Throughput
Throughput is the amount of information moved in a given amount of time. For instance, network throughput is usually expressed as
Kbps,
Mbps, or
Gbps.
The throughput rate is the average rate at which a Web application processes requests. Throughput rates are an important factor in the performance of a Web application. Common throughput goals include that the application be able to handle a specific number of requests per hour and that the processing time for a high percentage of requests be below a specific time limit.
